ABOUT ME

Hi! I’m Joanna Scott, a photographer driven by the belief that the most powerful moments happen when you least expect them. With a focus on editorial photography, I capture not just images, but stories—authentic, raw, and timeless.
I’m a happy wife, mummy to a little boy named Jack, and dog mum to Willow, our Cavalier King Charles who brings endless joy to our lives. As a parent, I know firsthand how quickly life changes, and that’s why I’m passionate about capturing the fleeting, beautiful moments that make each day unique.
My style blends storytelling with the elegance of simplicity, creating images that are as enduring as the memories they hold. Whether it’s a quiet glance, a burst of laughter, or a simple family moment, I strive to preserve what truly matters—the genuine, unscripted connections between people.
Let’s create something unforgettable together.
FAQ
Photography is more than just pressing a button—it’s about capturing the essence of a moment in its most authentic form. What sets my work apart is my commitment to creating images that feel editorial, timeless, and deeply personal. I don’t believe in forcing moments or posing for perfection. Instead, I embrace the beauty of what unfolds naturally, allowing each photograph to tell its own unscripted story.
My editorial approach means that each shot is composed with thoughtfulness and intent, while still preserving a sense of spontaneity. I want your images to feel like they belong in a magazine, but without losing the realness that makes them yours.
My photography style is a blend of editorial sophistication and genuine emotion, creating timeless images that feel both artful and authentic. I strive to capture the in-between moments—the quiet glances, the laughter, the raw emotions—that make each story unique. My approach is intentional yet effortless, balancing refined composition with a romantic, natural aesthetic.
I sure do! From wedding videographers to florists, I have worked with some of the best companies in the industry and would be happy to share their information with you.
As a true professional I adapt and flow with any event that may happen on the day, including bad weather. Wet weather can also be a blessing as the rain really brings out the colours in the landscape and can provide some amazing reflections. It never dampens the day!
Yes, of course! It’s fantastic to shoot in new locations. Any weddings over a 30 mile radius of the postcode SN12 will require an additional travel fee of £0.45p per mile plus any overnight stays. For destination weddings, I do ask that you cover my travel expenses.
I shoot with Sony mirrorless cameras, which allow me to capture crisp details, beautiful depth, and natural tones—perfect for my editorial, timeless, and romantic style. I always have backup cameras and lenses with me as well as extra memory cards, flashes, batteries, etc. My equipment is regularly maintained and updated.
One of the great things about using my service is that I have other photographer contacts who have a deep talent. I will try to arrange a replacement prior to cancellation and will offer you a full refund of any money paid. I’m here to take the stress out of your wedding day and you can rely on me 100%.
I always encourage couples to book their wedding photographer in advance to ensure they secure someone who truly aligns with their vision. My calendar fills up quickly, especially during peak wedding seasons, and I want to make sure I’m available to capture your special day. Booking early also gives us time to connect, plan your engagement session, and discuss all the little details that will make your photos feel uniquely you. Your wedding day happens once, and I want to be there to document every meaningful moment beautifully and authentically.

It’s definitely appreciated, but not a requirement. A fed photographer is a happy photographer and helps me recharge for the rest of the reception.
